Cristo Rey New York High School

Today my teen daughter and I visited the Cristo Rey New York High School in East Harlem.  We were both impressed.  A private co-ed jesuit school with a vision.  Although they are jesuit, they welcome students from all faiths.  What makes them unique is that they prepare students academically and vocationally.  Students attend school 4 days a week and work 1 day a week.  The "salary" is applied to their tuition.  Because the work study program is part of the curriculum students must be 14 years of age by September 1 in order to attend, in order to acquire working papers.

If you desire a small school environment (currently 380 students), who teaches academics, a vocation, and values, I'm sure you will love this school as much as my daughter and I did upon our visit.  Enough said!  Go visit the school for yourself.  The next application deadline is January 27, 2012, so act now!

If anything I have said above interests you, please check them out at http://www.cristoreyny.org/, and by all means, pray that my daughter is accepted.

I'm back and ready to go ... Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial

Well, it's been a while. I was thinking how I could revive this blog. Then, I recalled how everyone is always telling me how I get such good information. Usually for our youth. So I decided I'd become an informant. LOL!

Today, I'd like to share some good news: I just acquired tickets to go to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial on Sunday, August 28 in Washington, DC. I am so excited about this. I will be taking my daughter. This will be a historical moment in time, and we will be there to celebrate it! If you want to find out more about it, please go to the website and read all about it. Also, check out http://www.dedicatethedream.org/ for those of you who will also be attending.

I am so excited right now! Thank you Jesus for this opportunity!!!
