Special guest appearances by McGruff the Crime Dog, FDNY Fire Safety Education Unit, U.S. ARMY Recruiting Battalion NYC, The Federation of Black Cowboys, NYU College of Dentistry “Smiling Faces, Going Places”, and STEVE VIALIZ aka CAS, a legendary urban artist and Art Director for many Warner Bros & Disney Top Children animated 3-D movies will judge the “Pablo Pumpicasso Children's Art & Best Halloween Costume Contest".

UNCF Scholarships

The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) has a newly designed scholarships page. UNCF manages various scholarship programs, and each program has its own eligibility criteria, open/close dates and required documentation. To apply for a UNCF scholarship, you must apply through the online application process.
 
If you are a student attending a UNCF-member college or university, it is highly recommended that you also complete the UNCF general scholarship application. Once a student completes the application, the information will be used to match you to many of the specific programs administered by UNCF.

Young Adult Internship Program

This Program provides job-ready young adults 16-24 who are not working and not in school placement into a short-term internship opportunity. Funded through the Mayor’s Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO), the program offers 14 weeks of paid orientation, training and work followed by nine months of follow-up services and assistance for placement in permanent jobs, training programs and educational opportunities. YAIP programs are located in community-based organizations in all five boroughs of New York City, and offer a range of placements in many industries, including construction, hospitality, healthcare and retail.  For more information, visit www.nyc.gov/dycd or call DYCD Youth Connect at 800.246.4646.

World We Want Foundtion Grant (for Community Organizations)

World We Want Foundtion is accepting applications from organizations that represent youth making positive social change in their communities and around the world. Eligible partner organizations must be recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, must have a project team of one or more youths, a partner organization that supports and sponsors the team, and a project mentor to guide and advise the team. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to youth between the ages of 13 and 25 who want to make a difference through a range of social action activities, including community service projects, service-learning projects, and social ventures. Teaching Technology and Engineering Grant (for Teachers)

The Foundation for Technology and Engineering Educators, in partnership with Pitsco/Hearlihy & Company, is accepting applications for technology and engineering education programs at any grade level. Through its Excellence in Teaching Technology and Engineering grant program, the Foundation will award grants of $2,000 each to K-12 technology and engineering teachers to encourage the integration of a quality technology and engineering education program within their school’s curriculum. To be eligible, applicants must be teachers (elementary or secondary) who are successfully integrating technology and engineering education within their school’s curriculum. The Westinghouse Electric Company STEM Grants

The Westinghouse Electric Company is accepting applications from schools in the United States working to provide creative hands-on projects related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through its N-Visioning a Brighter Future program, Westinghouse will award $1,000 grants to three schools for any project with a STEM-based focus. An additional $2,000 grant will be awarded to each school’s science department for general needs. To be eligible, applicants must be elementary, middle, or high schools located in the U. S.
